Weatherman Welcomes 2022 with Pantone's Color of the Year: 18-1750

12-27-22 – Every holiday season since 1962, Pantone Color Institute spotlights one color as the official Color of the Year and this coming year’s chosen hue is a bold and exciting forecast of what’s to come. A bright and vibrant magenta, Pantone Color 18-1750, serves as a nice follow-up to last year’s courageous and creative Periwinkle, and a stark contrast of the Classic Blue of 2020.

Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, describes the color as powerful and empowering, stating poetically, “It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement.”
